Prog. notes: While some authors continue to break their style of works through their lives, others continue to hold their own style. I prefer to be the latter. I prefer to compose a single work which satisfies me in my life. The former style would seem to be active, but , on the other hand, it would mean to be influenced by others or to be controlled by the fashions. The late Mr. Sesshu Kai, a composer and my former teachers, often said me that the composer imitates his opus No.1. The method of my composition I often adopted in my composition until now is to make up the processes of production as my compositions. In this piece I realize a process as a composition which begins from sounds and grow to music considering on the meanings of 17-gen Koto. I intend mainly to deal with the process of time in my music. Music is said to be the art of time. I believe this method will give the high live performance.
The system with a computer and other electronic equipments which I build provides a surroundings to the performance. Computer becomes to be one of non-special equipments in our life also in the field of music. I use it also one of useful tools in my composition. I could not realize my idea in my composition without the big help of Ms. Kaori Takada, who has an excellent understanding on my work and the positiveness on contemporary arts
