Prog. notes: The Electronic Sound Sculpture "EAR HARP" is created for the purpose of the sound installation and also for the multimedia performance.The EAR HARP consists of @the sculpture part and the computer system.It has the 16 infrared light sensors on the surface of the sculpture part.The digital data goes to the computer to create MIDI signal and also to create the phrases and the sound crowds according to the action against the sculpture. I appreciate for collaborator, Hisayuki Shima and Mamoru Ichikawa for making shape and system.

センサーEAR HARPは1994年に制作。同年１１月のコピュータ音楽の現在でのマルチメ ディア・パフォーマンス「共響場」において初公開された。センサーEAR HARPはイン タラクティブなパフォーマンス・ツールであると同時にインスタレーションのための 装置としても機能する。オブジェの表面に１６個の光センサーを持ち、ある物体が２ ～３センチの距離まで近ずくと反応する。シグナルはインターフェースでMIDI信号に 変換されコンピュータによって再処理されさまざまな音形が生成される。 この作品は昨年カナダのバンフで開かれたICMC95のインスタレーション部門に入選。 同時に音楽セッションに入選したマルチメディア・パフォーマンス作品”KYOKYOUBA" においても用いられた。この作品の制作にあたって彫刻家の島久幸氏の協力を、また 技術協力を市川衛氏から得た。
