Prog. notes: Sunlight itself is not often directly perceived. However, on a cloudy day it can be clearly seen as a ray of light through the clouds. The piece tries to express the contrast between the 'visible' and 'invisible' sunlight. The piano plays a role similar to that of the solist in a concerto. The instrumentation is quite conventional. The computer provides a background of a rich timbre, Natural sounds, such as the sound of a stream and percussion, are modified by the computer. Sinusoidal model-based applied effects such as morphing and sound hybridization are used.
