Prog. notes: Flux I, the first work of the series for solo acoustic instrument and electronics, was dedicated to Meta Duo (Daniel Kientzy & Reina Portuondo) who inspired me to work this piece during the summer in 2001. The saxophone part and electronic sounds not only let each other do complementary jobs to create a mutual flow, but also perform as triggers to change each other’s way. The fragments of the electronic or saxophone sounds do not happen suddenly to stop the flow, but are added gradually and melded into the development of the piece over time.
