Prog. notes: War Prayer is inspired and constructed by a collection of illustrations, paintings and photographs contributed by the Hong Kong renowned graphic designer Michael Miller Yu, in which his creative motivation is primarily for anti-war campaign. The motif starts, recurs and ends in the style of “chorale-like” prayer in order to draw everyone’s awareness that any kinds of violence, terrorism and war must be ceased immediately. The electronic sound and shakuhachi not only depict the tragic reality of repeated conflict, violence, terrorism and death which is in stark contrast to the victory of wars, but also symbolize as well as advocate the undertaking of peace spreading.
