Prog. notes: “Vpiano”는 일종의 가상 피아노를 뜻한다.
몇 년 전에 한 퍼포먼스 그룹의 비디오 테입을 보게 되었는데 무대 한가운데 그랜드 피아노 의자를 가져다 놓으며 한 사람이 그 의자에 앉았다. 전자음악도 다루는 그룹이 었기에 뭔가 가상의 피아노나 그 비슷한 것이 나오지 않을까라는 기대를 했는데 그냥 연주자는 들어가고 또 다른 사람들이 나와서 다시 의자를 치웠다. 일종의 헤프닝으로 마쳤는데 무언가의 아쉬움에 그 때부터 계속 가상의 피아노를 꿈꿔 왔던 것 같다. 연 주 없이 끝내는 것은 존 케이지의 4분 33초”로 충분하지 않을까하고...
“Vpiano” means a kind of virtual piano.
A few years ago, I saw a video tape by a performance group. They brought a grand piano stool in the middle of the stage, and then a person sat on the stool. Since the group had often performed with electronic media I expected something like a virtual piano. But others came out and removed the stool. It was just a happening. From then on, I seem to have dreamed of virtual piano with feeling something lacking.
John Cage’s “4’33”” might be enough for a performance without playing.
