Prog. notes: DIALOGUE II was composed in the spring of 2004. In this work I explored the interaction of a
solo acoustic instrument with electronically altered acoustic samples. Double bass was the
source of the electronics in this piece. Samples of double bass came from traditional
performance techniques such as bowing, pizzicato etc. as well as unusual sounds such as
tapping the body or strings with both bow and wood, glissandi with wood, harmonics, bowing
over the bridge etc.
