Prog. notes: “Ta” has several meanings in Korean. Most of time “Ta” means either “other” or “the others,” or “striking, hitting, knocking or beating.” This piece is based on synthetic sounds and percussion instrument, especially Indian drums and Korean drums. Synthetic sounds create rhythmic phrase, noise, frequent starts and stops, different dynamics and repeated long sine waves through the continuous drumming. Percussion and nature mix together and make sounds of a daydream. The sounds unbearably heat up the day, creating a humid atmosphere. Finally, raindrops remove the hot air slowly from the remaining daytime heat. The others hit. It is just one “Ta.” [http://www.societyofcomposers.org/members/ChanJiKim/]
