This piece Figure in Aperture is the first experimentation for me to expand my idea on microscopic sound treatment toward visual image creation. By means of a macro lens and a digital camera which is equipped with 35mm sensor, it was possible to shoot extremely detailed moving matters in very thin depth of field. These microscopic visual movements, along with recorded sounds, were expanded variously by After Effects and a real-time algorithmic audio/visual processing system programmed in Max/MSP/jitter.
This piece was realized at the Sonology Department of Kunitachi College of Music, supported by DAAD Berlin and Kunitachi College of Music Special Research Grant.
