Abstract:
Previously multimedia background music can be composed using constant loop patterns or manual note input to construct the whole piece. However the composition is lack of change, and the music content cannot be varied with the multimedia scenario. The proposed system is based on algorithmic composition to generate the various music parameter distributions, therefore the background music can be composed automatically according to the scenario content using the 2D emotion control map. The related technologies will be a revolution for the multimedia background music development including cellular phone, PDA, and any other multimedia applications.
